What is emotional intelligence? And can it provide value in the workplace?

One of the key aspects of leadership is developing and maintaining successful relationships.

But the pace of change has become increasingly fast, communication is instant, employees frequently change their roles, and global competition makes international demands on cultural working practices and situational awareness. In addition, talented individuals are often quickly promoted into senior positions and expected to soar instantly.

As a consequence, a modern leader must learn to build relationships quickly and effectively and cope with environmental demands in order to be successful.
