Action Learning
Powerful individual learning through a highly structured group development programme
Action learning sets provide a bespoke learning experience, which combines leadership and team development within the context of a live leadership topic or challenge.
Action learning was originally developed by Professor Reginal Revans within Britain’s Coal Board in the 1940s. He encouraged managers to meet in small groups, share their experiences, and ask each other questions. To his surprise, Revans found that the new approach increased productivity by more than 30%.
Over the past fifty years action learning has been constantly refined within the HR community and is now widely recognised as an approach which encourages both individual and group learning. This is because the greatest learning takes place when we are forced to apply leadership theory to real-life problems. The additional value for many organisations is that action learning can also advance an important project goal or help solve a critical business issue.
Our action learning sets are delivered by highly skilled team coaches who place the individual and group’s development at the centre of the experience.
